Celebrating Healthcare Week, in-person and virtual

Employee Engagement at Emory Healthcare

The second week of May is National Healthcare Week, and Director of Community Engagement Ansley Thompson was looking for a way to engage all 24,000 of their employees.

But there was a problem - employees were divided between many different hospitals. And they didn't want to exclude those working from home.

So Ansley designed an employee engagement campaign to focused around mental health that everyone could participate in.

Her employee wellness team selected four questions like "What does wellbeing mean to you?" and "What gives you joy?"

Each day, a new prompt was shared through their intranet for everyone to draw their responses to using Emory's brand colors.

After the campaign ended, responses to all four questions were downloaded and turned into a recap video shared internally.

But the best part - they were also turned into this graphic, and turned into a 2'x 3' window cling.

The window clings also included a QR code, so when they were hung on windows in each of their 12 hospitals, patients could use their phones to scan the QR and participate in this live art exhibit, contributing their own thoughts and feelings of what wellness means to them.
