The ICCA engaged their international audience in a virtual space

Connecting in the Metaverse

The International Congress and Convention Association are pioneers in incorporating bleeding edge technology into their operations.

Not shy of venturing into the unknown, Metaverses included, they created a virtual conference in 3D space.

And like any conference, you need speakers, activities and interaction.

That's when Ksenija Polla, Regional Director of ICCA North America used Piccles on the main stage to understand how participants felt about the future of the events industry.

This led to a discussion between Co-founder of Piccles Chris Bent and event MC Darren Isenberg.

Other questions were asked like what gives you joy?

And to conclude the experience, asked for a little feedback.

Ksenija shared this testimonial after the event: “We just completed the ICCA Canada Summit held in a hybrid format in Montreal, Canada and online. Our biggest challenge over the past years has been to engage our audiences online or finding a way to create an interactive form of engagement for onsite and online participants. But we have to say that Piccles has managed to fill that gap. Chris is an inspiration to have come up with a concept where you can use a simple readily available technology – our mobile phones – and connect two audiences through a fun and engaging exercise. In a world of disconnect and two-dimensional relationships via our computer screens, it was heartwarming to see how each delegate suddenly felt part of and contributed to a bigger picture and message of warmth, love, hope and positivity. Everyone left our event invigorated and inspired thanks to Piccles.” – Ksenija Polla, CMP, Regional Director North America at ICCA
