Revolutionizing Team Building at Play with a Purpose

Play with a Purpose

TL;DR

Sharon and Josh, the dynamic duo behind Play with a Purpose, are always seeking innovative ways to spark creativity, provide unique networking opportunities, engage attendees, and connect teams through shared exploration. After witnessing a demo of Piccles, they saw an opportunity to facilitate "digital conversations through drawings" and crafted a unique program around this concept.

The Challenge

Traditional team-building activities often fail to fully engage participants or foster deep connections. Sharon and Josh needed a fresh, interactive approach to bring people together in a meaningful way, especially in a virtual environment.

The Piccles Activation

Inspired by Piccles, Sharon and Josh designed a program that leveraged digital drawing as a medium for communication and connection. As participants hopped between Zoom rooms, they met up to 60 people in an hour. Each room featured either a pre-planned conversation topic or allowed participants to choose a topic using visual communication through drawing.

Interactive and Engaging Activities

The goal was simple yet profound: to get to know other people, build relationships, and share creative ideas, opinions, and insights that would benefit everyone involved. The act of drawing, even as simple as a stick figure, sparked easy and natural sharing among participants. By the end of the event, a mural of images was created, leaving lasting impressions.

Customized Experiences

Sharon and Josh customized each event to meet the specific learning outcomes of their clients. This included gaining a better understanding of team dynamics through insightful questions, gauging knowledge and comprehension of company values, products, or ideals, and simply providing a fun and engaging way for team members to connect and enjoy one another’s company.

Memorable Moments

During their first demo of Piccles, the Play with a Purpose team created the now-infamous Mona Lisa. The drawings were anonymous, but there were cheeky suspicions about who added some notable augmentations to the artwork.

The Impact

The use of Piccles in their team-building events has been transformative. Participants found the experience to be a refreshing departure from traditional activities, engaging them in a way that felt both creative and meaningful. The shared digital mural not only served as a fun visual record of the event but also symbolized the collective creativity and connection of the group.

Conclusion

Sharon and Josh’s innovative use of Piccles has redefined team building for Play with a Purpose. By incorporating digital drawing into their programs, they have created a unique, engaging, and effective way to connect teams and foster creativity. This highlights the potential of Piccles to transform team-building events, making them more interactive, memorable, and impactful.
