Bringing Connection and Joy to Visiting Nurses

Nurse-Family Partnership

TL;DR

Being a visiting nurse can be a lonely and emotionally draining job. These nurses travel to new mothers in their communities, providing essential support without the comfort of their own support network. The Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) exists to provide these nurses with the resources and community they need to continue their challenging work. To enhance this mission, Cari Roberts, an Independent Event Planner for NFP, sought a way to bring warmth and connection to their virtual event. She turned to Piccles to help foster a sense of community and spread joy among the nurses.

The Challenge

Cari was concerned that a virtual event wouldn't deliver the same "warm fuzzy feelings" as in-person experiences. She needed a solution that would help the nurses feel connected and appreciated, even from a distance.

The Piccles Activation

To address this challenge, Cari launched the "Love Notes to Nurses" campaign, targeting all the new mothers who had received support from a visiting nurse. A simple email with a link allowed moms to easily participate by drawing and writing notes of appreciation. The response was overwhelming, with a flood of heartfelt messages pouring in. "They are the SWEETEST little love notes too, melting," Cari declared upon seeing them.

Creative Engagement and Content Creation

With the notes collected, the Piccles Content Creators transformed them into a touching video, showcasing the gratitude of the new mothers and the impact of the nurses' work. This video became a central piece of the virtual event, warming up the audience and setting a positive tone.

Why Piccles Was Used

  • Gratitude from New Moms: The campaign provided a simple yet powerful way for new mothers to show their appreciation.

  • Virtual Engagement: The activity warmed up the virtual audience, making them feel connected and appreciated without physically being together.

  • Content Generation: The collected notes and resulting video generated meaningful content that shared the message of gratitude and connection.

How NFP Used Piccles

  • Pre-event Engagement Campaign: A 15-day campaign to collect love notes for nurses.

  • Custom Video: A 2-minute video showcasing the collected notes, wrapping up the conference.

  • Icebreaker: A 10-minute icebreaker activity during the conference with 2,000 participants.

The Impact

The Love Notes to Nurses campaign and the subsequent video brought a wave of positivity and connection to the virtual event. It allowed visiting nurses to see the tangible impact of their work and feel the appreciation from the mothers they supported. The campaign not only engaged the audience but also created lasting content that highlighted the importance of their work.

Conclusion

The collaboration between NFP and Piccles successfully brought warmth and connection to a virtual setting, demonstrating how creative engagement can bridge the gap between in-person and virtual events. This case study illustrates the power of interactive, heartfelt content to foster community and appreciation in the healthcare and events industry.
